The BBS Law corporate team led by Rebecca Mills with assistance from Amie Stevenson and property support from Daniel Berger are delighted to have acted for Leo Yaffe, the director of Giants Seat Garden Centre Limited on the acquisition of the family-run garden centre in Stoneclough, Manchester.
The centre is a family business that has been running for 61 years, as the new owner of the business, Leo has pledged to maintain the same ethos and values that have made the garden centre so loved by its customers.
Commenting on the sale, Leo said: “It’s really exciting – the past few months have been strange, and a little bit overwhelming and stressful. But I feel really privileged, it doesn’t feel like you’re taking on just the business – you’re taking on the history, the stories, the memories… I feel really lucky that they’ve chosen me and are happy to work with me.”
Leo has been involved in horticulture for the past five years and recently completed a year-long placement at RHS Bridgewater. He has also just completed a diploma with Thrive, the UK’s leading charity in social and therapeutic horticulture, to become a qualified practitioner. He hopes to use this in the future to build community events at Giants Seat, supporting individuals and groups with the health and wellbeing through plants and nature.
In his new venture, he will receive significant support from some of the existing family members who are staying on in part-time capacity to ease the transition.
BBS Law wish Leo and the whole Giants Seat team the very best in their future endeavours.
