BBS Law is a dynamic and growing law firm committed to providing exceptional legal services to our clients. Our Finchley office is home to a highly regarded commercial property and secured lending team led by Partner Avi Barr, and we are seeking an ambitious Commercial Property and Secured Lending Lawyer to join us.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded solicitor to join a busy and high-quality practice handling a broad mix of commercial property and secured lending work. You will manage your own caseload across both disciplines, working closely with Avi and the wider team to deliver an outstanding service to a diverse client base that includes property investors, developers, and lending institutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a varied caseload of commercial property transactions including acquisitions and disposals, landlord and tenant matters, lease negotiations, and portfolio transactions
- Acting for lenders and borrowers on a range of secured lending matters including bridging finance and buy-to-let/investment purchase work (duel representation) and lending
- Handling title investigations, due diligence, and reporting on title
- Drafting and negotiating contracts, leases, facility agreements, and security documentation
- Liaising effectively with clients, lenders, agents, and counterpart solicitors to progress matters efficiently
- Contributing to business development activity, including maintaining and growing client relationships and supporting the team’s profile in the market
- Utilising the firm’s case management system, Leap, to manage files efficiently (familiarity with Leap is ideal)
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified solicitor with between 2 and 6 years PQE in commercial property and/or secured lending
- Demonstrable experience in commercial property acquisitions and disposals, landlord and tenant work, and/or portfolio transactions
- Experience acting for lenders and/or borrowers on bridging finance or investment lending matters
- Ability to manage a busy and varied caseload independently
- Familiarity with Leap case management software is highly desirable
- Residential property experience is beneficial but not essential
