Joanna helps clients with a wide range of issues arising out of relationship breakdown including divorce and dissolution proceedings; arrangements for children; property and financial matters and domestic abuse and violence.
Her children work includes cases regarding which parent the children should live with and the arrangements for them to see the other parent; disputes regarding children’s names, education and religious upbringing and disputes about whether children should be permitted to leave the country (whether temporarily or permanently).
Joanna’s property and financial cases often involve complex trust arrangements, business assets, property portfolios and pensions. Many of her cases have an international element.
Joanna is experienced in the drafting of family agreements, including pre and post nuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements and separation agreements.
Joanna is also a family mediator. This is where she works with both parties, on an impartial basis, to assist them to reach agreement and avoid the emotional and financial cost, and delay, associated with court proceedings. Most of her mediation cases are referred by other family law professionals.
Joanna has spent over thirty years working in leading firms in Essex and London. Most recently she was a partner at the Top 100 firm RWK Goodman. She joined BBS Law in April 2024.
