Peter has been a specialist family lawyer for over 40 years. Peter is now a Consultant to the Family Team who is able to obtain the benefit of his vast experience in the matters they are dealing with. Peter is particularly good at advising clients on all of the issues that arise from the breakdown of their marriage, partnership or relationship and seeing what is really important in the mire of emotional turmoil.
Peter’s long-held view that trying to maintain a couple’s relationship as parents is of primary importance and of immense benefit to children, is now generally reflected amongst Family Lawyers.Trying to achieve that aim led Peter to be one of the first solicitors to train as a mediator over 30 years ago. Peter was also one of the first to train as a collaborative family lawyer and later as an Arbitrator. He is in charge of the examinations for the Law Society Family Law Panel that other Family Lawyers take to show they are specialists.
Peter has advised on Nuptial Agreements for very many years and helps couples agree on what is fair so that in the event of the breakdown of their relationship they do not need to battle over “rights.”
Peter also has a niche specialism in Anglo-Swedish Family Law and is one of the only, if not the only solicitor with that experience.
