His vast range of experience for in excess of 30 years allows him to see the “big picture” and enables him to think constructively and often “out of the box”.
Roger’s wide-ranging experience and expertise includes Shareholder and Partnership Disputes, Commercial Landlord & Tenant issues, (including Possession claims, Dilapidations claims, rent review, recovery of rent arrears, breaches of covenant), Residential Property Management issues, Contract and Tort claims; Disputes with Banks and Financial advisers, including Interest Rate Swap claims; PG/shortfall recovery claims); Inheritance Act Claims. Anti-Money Laundering, Personal & Corporate Insolvency, High Value Matrimonial/Family ancillary relief matters, Professional Negligence claims against Solicitors, Accountants, Insurance Brokers and Surveyors including all forms of claims against Insurance Companies (for avoiding policies, delaying payment etc) ; Business Rates Mitigation litigation and schemes; Media & PR advice, and all forms of contentious Insolvency work.
Roger is highly experienced in Beth Din Arbitration matters and cross-border issues.
Recent Experience
- High Court claim arising from alleged fraudulent transaction, obtaining Worldwide freezing injunction, obtaining summary judgment and other relevant relief
- Defending Director against claim by Liquidator alleging breach of duties, preferential payments and other related claims
- Acting for a Wife in a High Value Matrimonial claim against Husband, who had concealed assets
- Acted for a purchaser in a large property related dispute with claims of latent defects, misrepresentation and other breaches.
- Successfully defending a claim for summary judgment brought by lenders under a personal guarantee.
Career History
Roger trained and qualified at Alexander Tatham (which later became Eversheds) a leading Manchester, national and international law firm. In 1994 he moved to Shammah Nicholls (subsequently SNG Commercial Law) a niche boutique law firm in Manchester where he became a partner in 1996.
He joined BBS Law in 2012 as a Consultant Solicitor and is a responsible and dedicated senior member of the firm’s Litigation Department.
