A Grant of Probate is a document given to a person or persons by the Probate Registry stating that they are entitled to administer the estate of a particular deceased person. The Grant is usually issued to the Executors, also known as Personal Representatives. Most financial institutions require sight of a Grant before releasing any funds. If the deceased owned a property a Grant will definitely be required.
Before a Grant can be obtained, the Personal Representatives must submit an application to a Probate Registry – this involves signing a Statement of Truth and preparing an Inheritance Tax account, even where there is no inheritance tax to pay.
BBS can draft all the documents leading up to the Grant and submit the application on your behalf. We are skilled in drafting full and abridged Inheritance Tax accounts.
BBS offer a fixed service where we only obtain a Grant of Probate for you. For more information about our fixed fees, please click here/see our Grant Only service page.
